MY EXPERIENCE
First and foremost I have to thank Jacksonville Magazine for allowing me to intern with their company this semester. It has truly been a pleasure and I willl never forget the experience. Over the course of the semester my job was simple. I wrote lots and lots of short stories. These short stories ranged from history shorts to climbing the tallest mountain in the world. More than anything, I wrote about the love that is near and dear to my heart, food. From the hottest places to have the best margarita to the tastiest place to enjoy Southern flare, I wrote about all of it. Other than writing, I also volunteered at a few events including the Whiskey Affair, the Southern Women's Show, and the Home and Patio Show, just to name a few. The skills that I gained from working with Jax Mag means that I can create a story out a five-minute interview, and most imprtantly I can trust that I am an amazing writer, and there's always room left to grow.

Creating the Fabulist was my all time favorite assignment. Based an annual women's survey, Jacksonville's finest beauties gets to vote for the hottest places to go, best restaurants to eat, and trendiest things to do. I had so much fun compiling this list because I'm a woman and I absolutely love all things fabulous!
NOVEMBER 2016
Chemotherapy is great for cancer patients, but they should also be aware of how chemo affects your mouth and eating habits. This article was featured in the "Best Dentist" issue. This piece gives patients tips about how to take care of their mouth during chemotherapy.
Voted the tallest climbing wall in the world by Guiness World Records, I wrote this article about the climbing wall right in your back yard. This wall is at Banning Mills retreat center, check it out!
DECEMBER 2016
The culinary calender is one of my favorite pieces beacuse it involves food of course, but it also gives the latest details on festivals, charities, and even special food events at local restaurants. Not to mention, Christmas is around the corner and there are so many events happening around this joyous time of the year! "Cyber Crime" features an article about a Californian woman who got arrested for selling homeade foods on social media. In California, it is illegal to sell food online without a permit. Apparently, you can spend up to a year in jail.
EVENTS
HOME AND PATIO SHOW
At this event, I had an amazing time networking with individuals. I was a representative for those who wanted to renew subscriptions, learn more about the magazine, or simply there for those who wanted a little casual conversation.
WHISKEY AFFAIR
The Whiskey Affair was an amazing night of wine tasting and mingling, but it was not all play. I had to work. While I was there I made sure attendees had an amazing time and I ushered them to the voting booth where spirit lovers has the opportunity to vote for their favorite evening cocktail.
